NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -
Bone chilling cold with dangerous temperatures is in the forecast for the New York City area this week.
Temperatures took a nose dive on Tuesday. Strong wind and light snow fall should begin in the late morning with accumulation expected to be around 1-2 inches. The high is forecasted to be 29 degrees but with the wind chill it will feel more like the low teens.
In New Jersey, a winter weather advisory was in effect until 4 p.m. for Ocean County south.
With the frigid temps, snow will likely ice up again making travel hazardous. The high on Wednesday will be 26.
Thursday is expected to be the coldest day of the week with a high of only 19 and a low of 9.
